Current research
My current research interests include Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-related anogenital diseases in organ transplant recipients, currently as a co-supervisor at a PhD project in cooperation with the Danish Cancer Society. The collaboration is a continuation of my own PhD. project that investigated the occurence of HPV and HPV-related disorders in kidney transplant patients. In addition, I am a co-supervisor on a PhD project on gonorrhea as well as collaborating on an upcoming project on urogenital pathogens.
My main interest is anal dysplasia. Anal dysplasia can be prevented, but the method is still limited to a few clinics worldwide. The method is called high-resolution anoscopy, a method I have learned over the last 10 years, and I hope to be able to expand the knowledge on the use of this procedure.
