Current research

During the last 20 years the Department of Dermatology has performed personal ultraviolet exposure studies looking at the correlation between sun exposure and the risk of skin cancer and the formation of vitamin D. Later personalized adherence intervention studies have been made to reduce the level of ultraviolet radiation (UVR). An important tool in this regard is a personal electronic UVR dosimeter measuring the personal UV dose. The department has developed several UVR dosimeters which they have used in a lot of studies. My current research is to investigate the uncertainties using an electronic personal UVR dosimeter in exposure studies. The goal is to increase the awareness of these uncertainties and how they can be minimized.
