Current research

I am currently working on my PhD with the title:”Combination of Laser and Topical Hedgehog Inhibitor to treat Basal Cell Carcinoma in a Murine Model”. The main goal of the PhD is to show that topical delivery of Hedgehog Inhibitors can accomplish similar effects in BCCs to those reached via oral delivery. In our experiments we use a special type of mouse in which we can induce BCCs. Following induction, we then treat the mice with Hedgehog Inhibitors in combination with laser and other frequently used treatments used on humans. The vision with the project is to develop new methods that can improve existing human BCC treatments.

Main interests

  • Laser-assisted drug delivery of Hedgehog Inhibitors
  • Translational research in mice
  • Data processing in R
  • Systemisation and optimisation of experiment protocols

Short description

I enjoy my work with mice and I work hard to get the most out of every single experiment. My motivation stems from the bench-to-bedside approach where promising laboratory results can be tested in clinical settings.
