Current research
In recent years, my focus has been on facilitating topical delivery of drugs normally administered systemically (intravenously or perorally) using dermatological energy-based devices including ablative fractional laser and electronically-controlled pneumatic injection. Successful delivery drugs such as vismodegib, cisplatin, bleomycin and nivolumab aiming to treat keratinocyte cancer. My current research focus is on laser as an activator of the immune system to combat cancers locally. The impact of laser on the innate and adaptive immune responses and the potential for combination with immunotherapy is explored.
Main interests
- Laser-assisted drug delivery
- Laser-induced immunoactivation
- Translational research
