Current research:

My research focuses on real-time molecular tissue assessment in skin cancer. I am investigating whether tissue plume generated by CO₂ laser sampling of basal cell carcinoma and normal skin can be analysed using rapid evaporative ionisation mass spectrometry (REIMS). The project combines molecular, imaging (OCT) and histopathological data, and my long term aim is to help develop tools for real-time tissue characterisation during skin cancer treatment.
